I posted a few screenshots of v0.8 in the gallery. They're just UI screenshots but I need your opinion.

Do you prefer v0.7 or v0.8 design?

I've also set up a place in the gallery to upload your own concepts for POLR's main screen image. If its better than mine, it could be used in the game

Only requirement is that it must designed so that the text boxes and buttons will be able to sit where they are on the v0.8 preview screenshot

I've decided to release info about version 0.8 along with its release date

Ok, so here are the features that will be available in version 0.8:

- Starter Pokemon Selection

- Pokemon Catching & Levelling

- Offline Mode

- Quests

- Weather System

- Day/Night System

- Starting Region selection (Hoenn & Kanto, other regions still being mapped)

- Pokemon Centre & PokeMart

There will also be the following updates/fixes:

- Registration System [Fixed]

Yup, that's correct! Version 0.8 will playable in Java AND you can download different versions to suit your machine!

It will work like this:

v0.8D

Release Date: 5th February 2008

This version is for players with a decent Windows PC with a Direct X9 graphics card. This is the recommended version of POLR to play as the game is built originally like this and uses the graphics to process data and render graphics (meaning smoother gameplay)

Okay I think I may have solved the problem. Unfortunately, it means I have to reprogram most of the game

Basically, I have to make the game check your Operating System version (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, etc..). And then modify all its settings based on the operating system. This also means registration files have to be altered depending on people's operating systems.

So basically, I can continue developing the game on my current PC but I have to reprogram most of the game. I'm not going ...

I've discovered why the registration system & a few other things will not work. It is because I have developed the game on Vista. Unfortunately, Vista's security design cause problems when creating new files in a drive folder, which means, user accounts won't store properly.

My solution is to use my other computer in college which has XP until I buy a new laptop in the summer. The problem with this is that I can only use it 4 days a week during college time only. This means development ...

Ok I've moved the progress reports to the main site (www.pokemonrevolution.co.nr) and deleted it from the forums.

I've also updated the development blog & you can see the last post date on the main page of the site too.

So make sure you check out the site and tell your friends about www.pokemonrevolution.co.nr and the forums!

An update to v0.7.5 will be released on Wednesday, I've received many bug reports and all of the bugs will be corrected.

Well some of you may I have noticed I haven't been around much lately. My laptop was supposed to be upgraded this week but a problem occured with the motherboard and now the Hard Drive reverted back to its original state and I can never upgrade the laptop Luckily enough I had most of the source code backed up on my external hard drive but development has been slowed down a bit.

I'll have to buy a new laptop whenever I get more money because my current laptop is not suitable for game development. ...

POLR v0.7 is now online

You can now download v0.7 from the following location:

http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~eondev/polr/install.exe

You will also need to download Hamachi from the following location:

https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp

You need to run Hamachi while running the game. To connect to the server in Hamachi, connect to the server 'polr' with password 'mmorev'. Once connected, run the game, register and log in.

If there are any problems, post them on the POLR Bug Reporting ...

Over the past two weeks I had a lot of server issues but they are no resolved so the game is back on the development track. The new release date is 16th November 2007 (only an extra week), features will include:

- Login/Registration

- Intro film

- Chat

- Some of Hoenn (originally going to be Kanto but decided to use Ruby/Sapphire graphics)

- Basic PvPK system (only one or two pokemon)

- Pok�dex & Map

- Basic Item system

- Mini-games
